Valentine’s Day is special and this year my class did a wonderful activity of interviewing each staff member in our school. After that they typed up the mini biographies of the teachers and printed them using http://www.festisite.com for the center of the Valentines. Then they made them, some working with doilies for the first time, and hung them on the bulletin board. Stickers and roses added a three dimensional touch. This is something the staff looks forward to each year. There are over fifty staff members so this was a huge undertaking. The kids were so proud to have started with nothing and now have this to show. Plus, they know more of the staff than they did last month. Even though this takes up time in the classroom, I feel the social, writing, and organizational skills far outweigh the time lost.
